bulb cover/ballon

Have you guys ever use this before:

I have Hella Yellow H4s right now but they dont look yellow enough...I was thinking of getting the yellow balloon so it could be more noticeable.

What you guys think???

I've used hella's version on my old explorers fog lights(b/f I got HID)

They do their job by making things yellow, really yellow not amber. I haven't looked into them lately but mine where quartz and they had two thicknesses, 100watt and 55watt. The thickness corrects the brightness of the bulb.

But like I said, I don't know if these are the same anymore.

Hope that helps!

i'm not sure how the lights are setup on the g35's cause i have not bought one yet. but on my current car (2001 honda accord sedan) i made my oem foglights yellow by painting the actual glass housing from the outside with yellow stain glass paint. a few coats of the paint makes it perfect. paired w/my 5200k hid's, it kinda looks like a lexus is300 from far away. these results are achieved using the stock bulbs. i don't recommend painting the actual bulb, but i have painted smaller/less powerful bulbs with stain glass paint to get a custom color long before all the auto stores carried blue/red/green accessory bulbs. maybe one day when i have my g, i'll buy a spare bulb and paint the foglight bulb yellow. btw, the foglight and hi-beams are the same bulb, right? it just has 2 settings, right?

i got a set of those yellow bulb covers for my fogs, they really look great with them on. nice yellow color with the stock bulbs. the only problem is the way it holds on to the bulb, u have bend the small clips in the metal of the base, but its holds great , i checked after a few weeks and no movement.

STOCK

Yellow bulb covers

ignore the dates, i forgot to take before pixs so i switched back to stock, but now i put the blue bulb covers on and i will post those, once i get them off the camera.

Import shops used to sell them back in the late 90s. I think SOEI was the brand. I had a really hard time finding any, but I was finally able to track them down. It seems as though snowmobile enthusiasts use these.

Moog,

Thats sick, for only $10!! How hard/easy was installation?? The previous post mentioned bending metal braces to fit them. How easy/hard was your install?? I had yellow fog's on my old blazer and they made a difference in the fog, alot of members here put in bulbs to match the HID's, but since we got fog around here, yellow light has been known to be better in the fog. How do your bulb covers work in the fog (if youve been able to test them)?? Im gonna get em anyway, but just wanted to see if they improve/worsen visibility in addition to looking good??

Thanks bro

Here's mine...They actually look more yellow in person than that picture portrays. Installation was easy. The bulbs just attach on top of the stock H4 bulb. I have had the chance a few times to use these in dense fog, and it works great. I usually drive with these on all the time at night with my regular low beams. I like the contrast of the 6000K HID light and deep yellow color. Sorta of a Lexus GS/IS look.
