How to remove tint spray from taillights.

Has anyone ever attempted to remove the tint spray paint on taillights etc? Bought the car with the taillights smoked out. Looks like it was done with a tint spray can.. I'd like to get rid of it, as it is starting to haze over and look like crap.

Anyone have a solution?

You're going have to sand them and then repolish them, VHT is some seriously messy **** since it's full of adhesives so it bonds to plastic.

You're better off trying to trade with someone or trying to find some used ones that weren't tinted.

You can literally use a paper towel to wipe it off with goof-off

i figured that'd be the easier solution, but truth is, its not in the greatest looking condition.. its hazing, and showing some white over the tint... i doubt there would be anyone willing to trade taillights that are in good condition with hazing tinted taillights.

might as well try anything and use wet sanding as a last option, before you have to buy new ones. also be very careful to not get any of the chemicals you try on your car, it would be preferential if you could take them off the car and then try your different combinations.
