Crooked shift ****?

So I took my car to the dealer to get some warranty work a long time ago. When I got my car back, the shift **** was a little crooked, but I never had the time to take it back and complain about it. Its been quite some time since then, and now its really crooked, about a 1/4 turn extra for it to be tight. This means its completely perpendicular to how its supposed to be faced. This not only looks bad, but also feels awkward in the hand while driving. If I try to turn it straight, it is extremely loose.

I was wondering if anyone knows what caused this and how I can go about fixing it... Is the shift lever or the shift **** stripped?

I'll probably sound like an a$$ saying this, but why not turn it 3/4 more to make it really tight??

Its already as tight as it goes...

I am fully aware that this is an issue I should have addressed immediately, but I did not. Its my fault for not taking care of it sooner. I can't go back in time to fix it now, so I'm looking to what I can do to resolve the problem on my own.

Take it off completely, there's a little washer thing, that might have fell out. What kind of work did the dealership do? Maybe they took off the **** and loss the washer?? Worse comes to worse, you could always get a new ****

It's on the stick, underneath the shift ****. Were they doing any service work that would require removal of your shift ****? You can take your shift **** off to check, if it's on there super tight it isn't likely that they removed it during the work. But make sure you lift off the trim and use another wrapped wrench to counter the twisting force of removing the ****.

Yeah, that washer is definitely missing Need to find a new one....

If anyone has a caliper, can you possibly measure the outside diameter of the washer? Or if anyone knows the part number, I'll just get one from the dealer. Thanks in advance!

I actually was able to measure the diameters of the lever and the ****, so I should be good on that part. If anyone can though, please measure the length, so I know how tall to make it....

Thank you! Does that beveled end face up or down?
