I decided to put in some puddle lights. I found that the real puddle lights can get really expensive so I bought 8 water proof LEDs for about $30 and got to work. There wired to the dome lights so they turn on when I unlock the car and they dim off when I shut the door. I can also turn them on manually. Possible DIY in the future. Also required some cutting in the side skirt to get a flush and clean look.

 

Wow that's actually pretty cool, you should post up the DIY for it. The outcome looks pretty legit.

Waiting for DIY

 

For those who don't know this, 2012 Maximas have this from the factory I think. A guy I met at a party had a '12 Maxima so we were checking out each others cars and he opened his doors and it did this exact same thing. I asked him about it and he said it came factory. (his is fully loaded + tech package). If you google "2012 Maxima security lights" you'll find stuff on it.

Hopefully you get your DIY out soon, because I'm for sure doing this to my G. Rice or not, I get tired of people stepping in things I don't want in my car at night, because parking on a clean street isn't always an option here in West virginia lol.
