Cracked headlight cover--must I replace the whole thing?

Hi there, I'm hoping someone can answer this question:

I bumped into a deer yesterday in my '04 sedan, which cracked just the clear plastic headlight cover--everything else is still intact. I'm looking for a replacement cover, but all I see for purchase is the entire headlight assembly. Do I really have to replace the entire assembly, or is it possible to just replace the cover, and if so, where can I get one?

(I did search this question and only found answers on mods. I just want my OEM cover replaced.)

Thanks,

Kim

I'm almost positive dealers only sell the headlight as a whole and not the plastic lens separately. You could try to search the marketplace to see if someone has an extra lens lying around from when they baked (members do this to do custom work) them to heat up the adhesive that holds the lens on so they can remove it.

do a search on ebay but its pretty rare taht people part out the lens. good thing though is taht your sedan headlights are pretty cheap, you can actually just replace it for a good price.

Id look for someone else whos gotten in an accident, usually they will sell their headlights. a cracked lens is actually pretty rare, usually tabs break, so they sell em for lower since its a PAIN to properly mount a headlight w/ broken tabs. so just buy it, bake it, n swap it!

I don't think you'll be able to find just the lenses very easily unfortunately.

not OEM, you can get the Housing, which won't have bulbs, or ballasts, for a lot less than the whole headlight, but you're not going to be able to find the lens seperately, best bet is to find someone who's got a set laying around not in use and get that, or try junkyards good luck!

Dude, I have the passenger side lens. Im not sure which side you need but I may be able to help you out here.

Reason I have it is that I broke all the mounts on my old headlight and then I bought a used one to replace it. already sold the ballast and used the turn signal to practice the clear signal mod before doing it to my headlights, so its pretty gutted. Lens is perfect though - if a bit hazy. I can dehaze for an extra cost.
