Painting Seibon CF Hood Ivory Pearl !

Just got my Seibon CF hood and am now getting ready to have it painted to match...

...problem is, the shop i called (best one around) said a job like this is gonna be around $2,000!!!

Is this right? Prep the hood, fit it, paint it, blend in the Data Systems Grill, blend in the fenders???

Anyone with any info - feedback PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

the main reason theyre quoting you so much is probably because of all the blending, its an expensive process. if you can get a decent body shop to colormatch well enough, then you can live with a close to perfect paintjob.

Also have Seibon TS hood. Mine was $250 paint/installed. You car is fairly new, IMO there is no need to blend other parts ( fender/grill), unless they're not sure they can match paint. I would shop around.

I agree - painting just the hood (done right) should be fine. Although IP is a lot harder to match then other colors...

Lets see some pics of your hood???

Here you go. Took some quick pix. Sorry for bad quality pix. Also, noticed I removed my Iforged wheels, waiting on my new black DPE wheels. Cant wait!

pearlcoupe, they're tryin to screw you dry. with most manufacturers, there a several different blends of each paint color. with Infiniti, there is only one for each paint. the cars are all painted and bui;lt at only one plant so you don't have several plants mixing paints several ways. they should only have to paint teh hood and install it. I was quoted $300 to have the ViS Fuzion hood custom painted and several points on it reinforced.

Thanks for all the feedback. Those pics of the hood look great! i cant wait to see it in White!!!

I will def NOT be taking my car to that place...the only reason i called them is because they have Lambos, Ferraris, Porches, etc etc out front of their shop, so i wanted to be cool and have my g worked on there...but now i see why those types of cars are there - rich *****-suckas!!!

Def gonna take it too my "normal" body shop and have them match it up the best they can and install it....shoundnt be more than a few hundred bucks...

Ill Def post pics when its done...
