Sunroof stuck

Got in my 06 coupe this morning, opened the sunroof (slid back) and went on my way. Got to work and now it won't slide close. I hear 3 clicks. The first I assume is the relay, then a quick on/off, which I assume is the limiter. Motor never tries. Will say over the past year or two it'll occasionally slide out and immediately reverse, put a second press usually sends it on its way.

Don't see any obstructions, so I'm assuming the motor is toast? Anyone have anything else pop to mind to check before I order a new motor?

Tips would be much appreciated!

Update: Checked all the fuses, fusable link, etc from the FSM. All good. Pulled down the headliner (Why the hell did they put bracing above the map lights??? You could just pop that off and have access!) and popped the motor out. Sure enough, i heard something rattling around when i pulled it. Guess something on the board popped, or there was a cold solder joint. Was rather violent when i popped the cover off of it so whatever was rattling flew out, never to be seen. Couldn't pin point a fault without testing, but the board has seen better days.

Looks like a new motor is in order.

Sounds like same issue I had. There are a couple of screws that hold motor in place. They may have fallen out. Make sure your motor isn't flopping around

Motor was secure. That noise was something in the motor itself rattling around. From my understanding, if that sunroof screw had fallen out, the motor would still be turning and grinding. Mine was dead silent when i pushed the switch except for relay sounds.

New motor gets here this weekend Hopefully that solves it!

I was just going to tell you that I got couple of motors but then I saw your username.

Is your track in good shape?

worn out scroll ridges. If your glass track got stuck but motor kept turning it will trip out your threads on the scroll, but then you would hear your motor working but nothing happen on the sunroof. If your motors does not make any noise, you'r scroll should be in good shape and it's the motor problem.

for those following along at home, the new motor did the trick. At first, it would barely come out and slam backwards, but holding down the close button to make it scoot forward got it all set. Works perfectly and I believe a little quieter.

Couldn't get the reset procedure to activate but it seems to be doing just fine without it.

Edit: And I should thank Joker for getting the part out quick. Easy transaction, good seller
