Best PIAA Fog bulb for HID look?

There's a million PIAA versions of H4 bulbs, since I'm gonna be swapping suspension I'll have the wheels off and it will be perfect timing to swap fog bulbs. So.... what is the closest bulb to HID that I can find?

Try Extreme White. It's pretty close.

Extreme White = very white (duh haha)
Plasma = slight tint of blue. Closest to HID imo
Plasma GTX = higher wattage. Very white, with a touch of purple/blue

Also remember... higher wattage bulbs tend to burn out faster.

So the Plasma is a standard 55/65w H4 bulb?

As far as my experience with PIAA's are concerned, I'd go with the Plasma. Currently I've got Xtreme Whites for my clearence and side marker bulbs and I'm not pleased with them at all, they're pretty off compared to the HID. I have some PIAA Super Tera's that I'll be switching those out with in the next couple days.

Also as far as fogs are concerned, you may want to explore some other brands. Right now I've have MTEC Fog lights and those are very close to matching the HID. If you are standing above it and looking at an angle, you'll notice a slight tint of blue, but if you bend down and look directly into the beam (and don't go blind!) there's no difference whatsoever.

Is there a particular model to those MTEC fogs since PIAA has 10 million different names for their bulbs?

I think I saw those Xtreme Force bulbs.. expensive.. like 85/pr and on ebay... Shipped from Japan no less!

I'm currently running MTEC super whites 4350 temp, along with Piaa Extreme White bulbs in both clearance and clear corners. I will agree the Piaa extreme whites do not match as well as I would like, but they do the job.

Our HID's have a color temp of 4350k.
MTECS = 4350k
PIAA Xtreme White = 4000k
It makes sense that the MTEC's are a closer match

The PIAA Xtreme Force have a color temp of 4700k.

Yup, thats right. The MTECS are "MT-439 Super White," H.I.D. Class Halogen Bulbs and then a whole lot of japanese follows after that.

I just installed PIAA Xtreme Whites in the clearance and PIAA Super Plasma GTX for the fog/highs. The ladder appear as a light purple. Kinda funky IMO. I will post pics this weekend, with comparisons. I might consider others as expresseed above, MTEC?

MTEC is supposed to be comparable to PIAA. Be SURE to buy the real one... theres ALOT of fake ones out there! Do a search for ways to tell between the real ones and the fake ones. The packages are slightly different. Also, MTEC also carries higher wattage bulbs that are brighter. These might look even closer to the HIDs. But remember, higher wattage bulbs usually have a slightly shorter lifespan.
