I was about to purchase a pair of Mtec H4 Superwhites and set of Mtec H4 Ion Yellow since I couldnt decide between the two. Anyways I saw there was a pair of "2X" and for a couple dollars more there was "4X". I was going to get the "4X", but was wondering if the wattage was too high. The "4x" consumes 100W/90W and the "2X" consumes 60W/55W For those of you who have the Mtec bulbs which do you have? Thanks guys

Personally, I like the 4x better... but also keep in mind that higher wattage bulbs tend to burn out sooner than lower wattage bulbs. 90w fogs is fine. Some older designed cars had problems with high wattage bulbs. The design of the wiring harness and plugs/sockets werent made to handle the heat. Usually, it would result in a crispy plastic harness socket... but the metal connections inside wold still hold. From what I've noticed, this isnt a problem with newer cars today. Again, I would personally go for the 4x for a brigher shine to match the HIDs.

I have the 55/60 watt bulbs. I believe the actual output is 100/130watt, but uses only 55/60 watts of power.
I think the higher output may put a strain on the wiring harness, but I'm not 100% sure on that....

The only housings I have ever seen have a problem with high wattage bulbs were just a hand full of SUPER cheap taiwan made ones for hondas. Those housings may have just been flawed though, since there were only about 3 that I have ever heard of.
