I'm in the Navy and I park my G35 next to a pier overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I was told that the salt from the sea water will ruin the paint/car. Can anyone tell me if this is true and if so, what can I do to protect my G35 from the element if I can't park it anywhere else? I also use Meguiars NXT wax, would that protect the paint at all?

Keep it waxed... ...but the fact is that the salt water mist that fills the air is going to attack every inch of the car. It should have a good rust-through warranty, so I wouldn't be too concerned about it... ...especially if you don't have any other choice.

Take a look at any new import car here in the states and you'll almost always find surface/flash rust on the brake rotors and sometimes the suspension arms. That's just from being at sea for the transport over.
