clear corner security

Would anyone happen to know how to secure clear corners on the coupe so that no one can steal them? Also would anyone know the CA State Law for having clear corners and PIAA white bulbs if they're legal or not? I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

White signal lights are illegal in CA,
thats why most of us switch to the yellow bulbs just to be on the safe side.

securing them isn't worth - they'll do more damage trying to get them out. thiefs suck.

You could superglue them on to prevent theft.

White bulbs illegal in CA.

They're still illegal in the daytime, even with amber bulbs. They'd only look legal at night when the bulbs are lit.

Can anyone explain what exactly is legal to change in terms of lights? I was about to do some bulb changing but don't want to if it will cause trouble (not really worth it)...

I'm also in CA... thanks

first post... YAY...

afaik, you cannot have blue or red bulbs in the front (because people will think you are a cop). you HAVE to have red brake lights. and you have to have amber sides. apc (better known for ricing out hondas) sells a bulb which blinks amber, but appears silver when not lit. afaik, this is a legal solution if you do not want to see yellow bulbs when you look in your clear housing.

triple8 says clearcorners are illegal regardless of bulb color. i would like to see some proof of that, because i have never heard that before.

cheers,

tim (hopefully soon to be '05 coupe 6mt)

My approach

I went with the amber wedge leds from autoillumination.com. I hated the look of the amber bulb showing thru the clear corner. Here are some picts of the result.

my question is do the clear corners fit on anything besides the G's? But ducatiguy nice mod, I'm considering ordering a set and saw how easy they came off so I'll prob add some pins :-)

Why anyone would use an orange bulb is beyond me. It looks ugly, and is still just as "illeagal"

I think you are all confused with something.. The law states that the corners must REFLECT AMBER. Meaning at night time, if a light is shined upon it, it is amber/orange.. If you stick an orange bulb in there along with a clear side marker, this doesen't change anything. Its just like a reflector on a bike, which serves the same purpose as the side markers, so that if the car is parked on the side of the road or something, an oncoming cars headlights will reflect the side marker so it is more visable.

Its pretty unlikely you are going to get ticketed for something that ridiculous though, I wouldn't worry about it. I put in PIAA Xtreme Whites and they look great

BTW: Thanks for that Ducatiguy, I'm going to look into something like that.
