My Luminics bulbs...

Are CRAP! I honestly can't believe how bad these things are! Recently, I just switched my stock HIDs for 6,000K Eagle Eye HID bulbs. The interesting thing about the Eagles (not observable in the pic) is that they have a very slight purple hue to them. I figured matching a fog light would be tough but I came across a AutomotiveLightingUSA who said the Luminics "Ultra Violet" would be a perfect match since they're rated at 7,050K and are a hot white with a slight purple tint. Well you be the judge. To me they look exactly the same as stock and compared to the MTECs which are rated at 4350K, the MTEC blows it away.

The first picture is an MTEC Fog, the second the Luminics Fog, and the third a picture from Luminics site.

damn sorry to hear, i had a good experience with my luminics bulbs. My mtec blew out in a couple months and my luminics are as yellow as advertised. The best thing is if you get them direct off their site, it's free shipping and a lifetime no questions ask guarantee.

Well as much as I'd love not to advocate these guys after this experience, I did get my MTECs from them. The site is www.automotivelightingusa.com , MTECS are $22.99.

are you using the same HIDs for your 1st and 2nd pic?

these mtecs, how long do they last? would they match up well with 6000k or 8000k hids?

The first pic has the stock HIDs where are the second has the 6,000K. With the new HIDs I have to take the shot at a different angle since my camera's focus won't properly compensate. As far as MTECs matching other 6,000K or 8,000K I'd say probably not. The white coloration is more "dull" and not as hot in coloration, sort of like comparing your average Extreme Whites at AdvancedAuto to a white LED.

A couple of suggestions for fogs with a purple hue.
PIAA Super Plasma GTX 5000k
Nokya Arctic Purple 8500k

Keep in mind that I have no personal experience with either of these bulbs. I just came across them while researching H4 bulbs. Good luck.
