I am looking to remove this to hardwire my Valentine one, but cannot figure out how to remove the overhead map light/sunroof control/sunglass holder.

 

why dont u just hardwire it to your cig lighter. its very easy!

 

I'm wanting it under my rear view mirror so I will need to run the wire up through the headliner to get it down the A pillar, I would need to remove the maplight assy anyway right?

 

Take a flat-head screwdriver and wrap it with a towel, the unit pops right out if you pry it. There are two prawls on the side facing you located in the middle of each light. Once you loosen the prawls and pop it out, you just have to disconnect the harness.

Shouldn't take you more than a minute.

 

You can also hardwire directly into your wires going to the mirror.

 

Only if you have the homelink mirror though, AFAIK.

 

when i installed my clifford pager alarm i had to put my antenna up there and its really simple to run the wire up where the roof meets the windshield you can pull down with your hand and stick the wire in the crack of the roof and run the wire all the way across to the left pillar the piller pops off by pulling the top and it will come off only clips hold it in then you can run the wire down and go to either ignition harness or cig lighter the cig lighter would be much more easier. if you go to harness you need to fuse it. when you cut the plug you dont need heavy gauge wires so it will fit nicely
