i only get the car back in a few weeks...but the fenders have already been put on..its hard to ask my body shop to remove them..they are prepping the body kit and getting ready for paint..i can show you the pushed out fender, A pillar rubbing...and the opeing of the door..i did not need to extend wires...the length of the current loom was fine..no extra tension placed on the wires...i will try to get pics in a few weeks..if you can sit tight till then...i actually got a CD from gt factory..they include it with every kit....i will try to upload it but i need someone to give me some free server space/host it for me...its step by step on how to install the hinges...let me find the CD..somewhere in the body shop lol!!!..i will know in a few days..I plan on passing by the shop to get a progress update..will look for the cd then.

(1) What 16"s of sideways opening looks like.
(2) The cuts in the frame to recess the door hinge
(3) The pushed out / rolled fender
(4) The welded on hinge
(4) Part of the hinge you had to grind down
(5) Anything else they modified

Did they also need to install a wire extension loom?

cool, that is good that it comes with a comprehensive CD, i am not sure if i will be able to find a body shop experienced with GT Factory door kits in NZ. I think there are a few companys experienced with VDC Vertical Door Inc kit, but i definitely would prefer GT Factory. What body kit you getting? Can't wait for the pics!!

Since we're on the subject, how many people would get in on a group buy for a set of vertical door kit that doesn't require ANY cutting of the car or even rolling the fenders and it goes straight up. not butterfly like. I've had this sketch for a really long time now, all I have left is interest and a shop to fabricate the parts. They are going to be machined out of pure aluminum block for rigidity and light weight.

u would get people looking but, mostly in disgust... look at that kid, thinks he's cool cause his doors don't open correctly. look at him trying to close his door now, it takes him 3 tries and he has to close it slowly, cause the doors aren't aligned correctly. oh shlt, look, his door just fell off. hahah. look at him kicking his car now.

Word. You have to get behind the fender, that is where everything will bolt up. Plus, you leave the door shut to do all of this, so you don't have to allign it.

Vertical Doors INC was the first to start making kits. They are top notch. If anyone is looking to get a kit, I have one from Vertical Doors for sale.
