my friends G was at the body shop and he got a set of new 06 projectors and he wants to sell his old 04 pair..problem is there is masking tape residue and i think filler residue and all types of dirt on it..what do people suggest I use to get the gunk off without scratching the surface..should i use any type of sand paper or abrasive?1500 grit etc...i dont want to screw up the clear glass...

FYI the PLASTX as mentione above should work. Just becareful trying multiple chemicals. I had the unfortunate experience of ruining a headlight on a friends G because a chemical reaction "melted" the plastic.

For the record, you can certainly wetsand the headlight assembly using 2000 or higher grit. Follow up witha polish and you lights will look better then new. Be sure if you use sandpaper that you wrap it around a sponge which will ensure even pressure. Also, be sure to keep the light and paper well lubricated.

3m plastic polish or something similar to that is suggested by nissan/infiniti. i think it's the only polish they recommend for headlights...
