So I got the Nissan airbag cover from a friend in Japan, and I'm trying to take off the airbag so I can replace the cover. Problem is the bolts holding the airbag in place are strange, almost like little wheel locks... anyone know how to get these off? I did a search and the only thing I found said to use a t30 torx bit, but that doesn't fit. Oh, and both bolts are totally different -

Go to kragen auto or a auto parts store. They have a set you can buy for about 10.00. Its a security torx.

 

I bought a set of them at a local auto supply store. The guy knew what they were and said that they were pretty common. The 5 heads cost me $30 CDN. Also some store rent out tools, you might want to try that as well.

 

I bought my TORX bit from autozone. There's different sizes, so I would suggest trying them out before you leave the parking lot of the store. This way you can return them right away if you got the wrong size.
