A/C blowing hot air only
What's going on? I'm looking for a little help. I took my 2003 G35 two weekends ago to the dealership in my area to get the 90k service. Everything was working fine up until this past Saturday morning when my a/c wasn't getting cold. It felt as if it was trying to get cold, but it just would stay at the same temperature. It was a hot day, so I figured it needed some time. After about 10 minutes of driving it was still feeling kind of cool, but not cold. Later on in the day, I put the temperature up to 80 on the a/c to see if anything would happen, but got nothing. Ended up taking the car to PepBoys to get an idea of what's going on. They said that the a/c compressor valve has gone bad and is what's allowing the freon to leak from. They were trying to find just that piece, but said that the whole compressor is needed.
Does anyone think that it's just a coincidence that the compressor goes bad a week after getting it serviced by the dealership. Could PepBoys be b.s.'n me to replace the whole compressor. The only prices that I have found for a new one is $540 and up. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

take it back to your dealership. But you can check to make sure they did not accidentally unplug the temp sensor.
Check to see if it is blowing cold air if you turn the temp all way down to 60 deg. If it is, then you have the same problem I had. The problem was that the sensor plug somehow came loose. In my 03, the harness was under the steering wheel, on the right side, above the black tube. You will have to pull down the steering wheel cover underneath to access it.

you either got a AC line cut or somethings leaking, check all your AC Lines , cause mine was like that and i found a little cut in my Ac line.
and if it is, make sure it wasnt from a Intake install or something, dealership wont cover it, they wanted to charge me 610 for it to be fixed, but i fixed it using Bazooka Joe bubble gum FTW lol jk

That's the thing. It was blowing cool, but not cold air. I had it all the way down to 60 and put it up 80, but it was just blowing the same almost cool air. It kind of felt like when you first start the car in the morning and it is already hot out, but you feel the a/c trying to get cold. It just never got cold. Now after taking it to Pepboys and them doing whatever test they did, I don't believe there is any freon left. The dealer isn't going to do anything except want to charge me $550 for the part and who knows how much to install it.
