Seats moving by itself???

I had the weirdest problem with the my coupe the other day. I was driving along on the highway and all of the sudden, the seat started to move forward by itself. The only way to stop it from moving forward was to press the seat adjustment switch backwards. This happened a bunch of times during that drive. Is it the motor or control module that is going on the fritz? That definitely did not feel safe - not sure if anyone has ever experienced this. My coupe is an 2005 6mt G35 coupe.

Didn't the 05 have seat and steering wheel memory?? Maybe you hit that button by accident?

my driver seat automaticallty moves forward anytime enough weight is put on the seat ie) sitting in the seat, or leaning into with your hand....i finally had enough and just pulled the motor so it would stay in the same place....if you remove the plastic panel just under the cushion in the front of the seat, you will see a big white plug, unplug it and your forward/backward motor will no longer work but your tilt motor will.....it's weird when i do plug it in, it rolls backward/forward fine until you sit in it then it will roll all the way forward on its own which made driving impossible

under the seat trim on the side of the the seat rail you will see a small metal flap and a button . Tape the flap to the button and problem solved .

I had the same problem...
Sorry for my english

Remove 4 mounting bolt on seat.
I dont know if it is necessary to do it but i do it like this... Your risk :P Disconnect both battery cable (pos. & neg.), wait 3-4minutes, disconnect air bag connector (yellow plug)

protect your cable harness

Use tie-rap and pull some loose to the rear of seat...tight it.

I was actually able to fix this problem. There was a cable rubbing on a metal bracket which exposed the wiring. This cable runs underneath the seat, however I did not have to remove the seat to fix the problem. I used electrical tape around the cable to fix this issue.

Its closer to the center console, but you can reach it if the seat height is adjusted all the way up.
