DIY: Window motor repair
#61
it's not too bad. I bought a cheap set of mini screwdrivers to get the silicone out. Desoldering the 2 wires just unclip and pull up while heating the wires with the soldering iron. To pull the assembly out I pull on the plastic with needle nose pliers while heating the ends/silicone. You may need to heat the silicone/solder left at the bottom, to put housing back in. I doesn't matter if you melt the black plastic. Just don't solder the 2 wires together.

Great DIY. Just did this today and now my window works flawlessly. Saved me a bunch of $$$. Picked up the brushings off eBay for $3 and already had everything else I needed. The only issue I ran into was in your pics when soddering the two wires back on you have them backwards. You have the all blue wire running to the back prong and the blue and red wire going to the front one. When I did that and installed the motor the up and down switch were reversed so I had to rip everything apart again to switch them back. Not a big deal though. Just letting you know for people doing this in the future. Thanks again!

I don't mean to necro this thread, but I'm trying to do this as well. Is this the same procedure for the V36? Does anyone know if these brushes will work?
