leather peeling off 6mt shift ****
So the leather on my 6mt shift **** is peeling off and i can see a smooth plastic underneath. i will eventually get a new shift **** but for the time being i want to do a DIY fix and see if it looks good without the leather on it, i was wondering if anyone had any experience doing something like this?
please dont just tell me to get a new shift **** or anything, i know i can spend a couple bucks and get a new **** - and i will eventually but right now i just want to see if i can salvage the one i have for a quick fix.

It's just a cheap piece of plastic underneath. There's really no way to make it look good unless you can fashion a new leather cover or something. I just changed my **** to a new OEM one and when I took off the old one, I ripped all the "leather" off (it was already tearing and that thing took some serious effort to unscrew, and it kinda ripped off by default).
Of course, like I said, reupholstering would likely be the only way to make it look decent.

There's a guy in our marketplace selling a willow one for $20. It's not perfect, but its super decent. There are also aftermarket *****. Haha
Reupholstering it would be a huge, unnecessary mistake. The stock ***** on eBay sell for $149..usually can't find willow ones tho (not sure of your interior color).
Just get a nice weighted ball type.
