Did they ever upgrade the automatic dimming and remote button mirror in our cars or does the 06 and 07 have the same crappy mirror?

I chickened out on trying the fix and had the dealer change my mirror for the 2nd time on the last day of my warranty. It's quiet now, but I'm sure the rattles will return.

i did the fix a few weeks ago and it worked like a charm. however, since i'm no longer concentrating on the rattle from the mirror, i can now hear a vibrating buzz coming from the instrument gauge area. it never ends...

the buzz in the dash is from the vent to the left of the wheel. the only fix is for the dealer to spray silicone in there. it works for a little while, but as soon as your front tires start to cup it comes back with a vengence. i traded my 05 in for a g37 last week because of all the squeaks/rattles.

It seems that Gentex makes all these OEM mirrors and that in 06 the rearview mirror was updated with the 453 series. These are the actual factory mirrors. My girlfriend has it in her 06 G35 sedan and there are no rattles. From the info I have read, it's plug and play and should work with replacing the 03-05 homelink mirror which is a 313. If my rattles come back with my 2nd dealer replacement (Gentex 313) I will look to update it with the new and improved mirror which can be purchased on ebay either new or used.

my first attempt at this worked well enough but after I started getting the rattle again. Just re-did it and hopefully it will last at least for another year. It's certainly an easy fix to perform.

My main concern with opening up the mirror was the possibility of messing up the circuit board and then you have a rattle free mirror that doesn't work.
