Headlight bulb replacement
Headlight bulb replacement
I have an '06 sedan. I am trying to replace the factory fog/high beam bulb with aftermarket. I have read "just loosen a couple of screws and pull down the inner wheel well." Well, I am not sure if an '06 is different, but my inner wheel well is attached to the front bumper and stretches all the way to the center of the car. I took out a few, and I mean 3, screws and the wheel well will not budge. Am I missing something here, am I going to have to remove my front bumper to replace the bulbs? Or just tak out every screw that holds in my wheel well?
If this is the first time you've done this, it's a good idea to jack up your car, and remove your wheel to get at the wheel well cover. I normally remove the whole cover to avoid possibly damaging it, and/or contaminating the bulb going in there. Besides, It makes it a lot easier to see what you're doing.
AFAIK, the cover should only extend (under the car) to the center engine compartment cover (the one you remove to change oil, etc.), so ends just in front of the wheel well.

Though you probably don't need to remove the wheel. I just jacked my car up and put it on stands. The wheel will drop down enough to leave plenty of clearance. I just removed all the clips, and about 6 bolts underneath. Enough to loosen the lower engine cover to expose the 2 clips that are hidden underneath it. Once you do that, the wheel-well cover can be pulled straight down.
