LED Sidemarkers Project Prototype (UPDATED!)
Hi guys here is a prototype of some LED corners. Please take into consideration this is a prototype, I am planning on using these in the clear JDM corners, but it doesn't look bad even with the amber lense. These can work in both configurations, both as parking lights and blinkers, or just parking lights.
I have it setup with a 12V regulated voltage supply on board that prevents overvoltage and voltage spikes. This helps the LEDs last longer by not being over-powered. They are current regulated so that the current stays constant to prevent over-saturation of the LEDs and ensures a constant light output. The final fail safe protection on the board is the fuse which is a fast acting fuse to prevent short circuiting. All in all this design has a lot of protection and regulation to make sure that it is stable, safe and long-lasting.
The LEDs are setup in a 4 LED by 4 array pattern. 2 arrays are used for the running lights and the other 2 for the blinker or all 4 can be used for the running light.
I am working on getting a printed circuit board designed for this. and once that is done, it will look really clean...I am going to be moving the regulators to the front of the board and the fuse to the back to make for a cleaner install and allow for easy changing of the fuse if it ever goes out.
Any comments?

That was just the setup of the prototype board. The actual board will either have a TE5 fuse munted on the back or an inline fuse. Both of those can be changed through the hole for the bulb holder so that the housing wont have to be taken apart. The only reason the fuse would ever need to be changed is if the board got short circuited somehow, which shouldn't happen, but this is a failsafe just incase, so the board doesn't get fried and blow the main lighting fuse.

I removed the fuse since there was a lot of concern about being able to change it. It really was not necessary with all of the other protection that is on this board anyway. I took some new pics of it on a housing back as well as from inside the housing. I also took a video of the blinker functionality which was done by hand and not by the car. This is still a work in progress, but I think once I get the final design down and the printed boards made it will be a simple process to make sets of these for a possible group by if there is enough interest at a fairly decent price, i.e. $100 a set.
