Re: Matching fogs to HID color

Does it matter that the hybrid hyper whites are rated at 18w and the stock bulbs are 5w?

Re: Matching fogs to HID color

I'd use the 4100Ks if I had it to do over again. Mine are too blue for my liking.

Yes, 18W is bad if the bulb is supposed to be 5W. It's likely not a standard wedge bulb, and if it does fit in the same spot, will not likely look as it's designed to.

Re: Matching fogs to HID color

I have had my Mteks in for almost 3 months now and have not had one problem with them at all. I will get them again when these burn out. Just becareful installing them like with any xenon and do not touch the bulb. I used a microfiber towel when I installed them as to not get any finger oil on them.

Re: Matching fogs to HID color

There is a wealth of information in THIS THREAD.

It's the mother of all G35 lighting threads. I put in lots of different clearance strip lights, said where to get them, took lots of pics, and posted all the results.

Re: Matching fogs to HID color

I just installed the PIAA Xtreme White 4150K H4 bulbs. I love them. Very similar to the pics posted above with a little less blue tint. I can't imagine getting much closer to the HID color. There is a little variation with the angle but they look great. During the daytime, the blue tint on the bulb is apparent in the reflector while the lights are off. Looks pretty cool.

I put in PIAA SuperPlasma GT's & one burned out in less than 5 months... Sucked. I tried the SilverStars next & hate them, they look greenish yellow. Not sure what I will put in next...

Re: Matching fogs to HID color

the h4 bulbs are such a hassle to put in and take out (personal opinion since I work on my car in a small home garage)....is there a way to take them out withOUT taking off the wheels?

Re: Matching fogs to HID color

You don't have to take off the wheels, you can just turn them all the way to one side.

BTW, I had the Sylvania Silver Stars, they looked OK and lasted a year. I now have the PIAA Xtreme whites which look much better but I hear they don't last very long and they are more expensive then the Silver Stars.
