home made LED corners, want some opinions
home made LED corners, want some opinions
had some free time so i made my own LED corner lenses using my existing clear corners. the results were damn good. still need to drive around with them and see how many times i get pulled over before i decide to convert my orange ones.

It's hard to tell how blue those are from the pic without the other lights in the array. Post a pic of the corner with the stock Xe on.

Re: home made LED corners, want some opinions
I did something similar, but kept the amber look. It's a row of 11 LEDs, with every other one blinking as a turn signal. They are in a straight line, but the picture throws it off a little. When I have more spare time, i want to make the individual LED dots more pronounced and also match the color of the amber lights on the front of the car.

Did you drill into the back plastic housing, or did you open up the side marker and place the LEDs inside?

Re: home made LED corners, want some opinions
i split the housing and placed a small circuit board with two resistors in between the each LED.
the reason i used the resistors to prevent overloading of the circuit when i arrange the corners to blink with the orange bulb
here is a link to the pics

also attached are some pics i took with then in the car
and the pictures dont do them any justice. they are much brighter when you se them in person

Re: home made LED corners, want some opinions
I know its a lot to ask, but can I see the backside of your sidemarker? Interested in the way you split it open and put it back together. I first sawed off the middle stem that holds the OEM bulb socket. Then I cut out everything between the two connector "prongs." Epoxied the sucker back together and used silicone glue everywhere.
