Clearance bulb replacement

I did a search and read through many threads regarding replacing my clearance strip bulb (it went out). All I could find was information on the fact that I had to either remove my wheel, bumper, and/or inner wheel well liner.

I was about to remove the wheel when I found that you can simply pull the two bolts on the hood-switch bracket and move it aside. At which point you can get to the clearance bulb and it looks like you can get to the headlight as well. This is on both sides. It's a bit cramped but for average hands (no meat-hooks) you can get to them with only minor pain.

The fog light and amber parking light look like they will require removal of the inner fender lining.

Just thought I'd post my recent experience.

What part is the "hood-switch bracket" you speak of?

The hood switch... is the only switch triggered when you open and close your hood. It's on the passenger side, toward the front of the vehicle, in the engine bay. It looks like a plastic-wrapped spring, of sorts, and is held in place by a metal bracket.

I'll try and snap some pics tonight. But it's pretty easy though. Just look in the engine bay where you think the clearance bulb socket should be and you'll see it (get a flashlight). It's a long, tabbed bulb socket that is flat, black, and plastic. You can't miss it.

it's pretty much at the top corner of the headlight.

so wait...we don't have to remove the wheel well?

so do i just remove the two bolts and then what?
it seems like the plastic is pretty sturdy and doesn't look like it will bend...

Bringing this back from the dead. I'm at work and can't go out and peek in my engine bay, but can anyone confirm that this works to replace the clearance strip bulb?
