H.I.D's.... Looking for brighter than stock (hi lo and fog)

Where can one find a set brighter than the stock HID's for an 05 35x sedan. I'd also like to do something with the little fogs and the hi-beams. Can't stand yellow for some reason. Also what size bulbs are the 3. Just got the car 2wks ago and a bit confused about sizes, some say H4 some say 9003 etc..HELP!!

not sure about the hids. i adjusted mine higher and am quite happy with the brightness and pattern. as for the fogs, H4 is the same as 9003.

What do you mean by "brighter" more light output or color? Most guys change their stock bulbs to 6000k to get a blueish/purpleish look on their hid's. H4 is the same as 9003 and your fogs and high beam is the same bulb.

I want it brighter as in more output, blueish white color. Got 8000k on my bike and that's nice. Stock light just seems dull and low in output. DO I just need to change the bulb or ballasts as well? hopefully dont need to change ballasts cuz that sounds stupid. I might just get sylvania ultra H4's for hi and fogs, those are nice, I got them on my 07 trailblazer and they're lovely. What do u think or what else can I get?

Phillips Or Ge. 5000k Or 6000k Will Give You Whiteish/bluish Look Plus Doesent Really Effect The Output That Much. I Have The Phillips 6000k And There Awesome. Alot Of White With A Hint Of Blue.

8000k is going to give you more color, not more output. If you want more output go with the 3000k, they are bright, but they are yellow.

I've heard http://www.xenondepot.com is one of the best online sources for real HID products. They are all made by Philips which is considered one of the top HID brands out there.

The best way to get more output and color is to do a projector retrofit.

SCUBA STEVE, here a link to probably the best set of HID money can buy

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tchlink:top:us

Can't afford it for now and stayin with stock H.I.Ds, but knock yourself out. These phillips kits are the ones that come on lamborghini's and porsches in europe.

Like ttrank said, best option is a projector retrofit. Any 35w bulb that is not stock color (4100-4300k) will have significantly worse output than stock. 6000k ultinons that everyone likes to use have 25% less output than stock, and it just goes downhill from there

There seems to be some confusion in this thread.

The "brightest" bulbs you will get in your car are probably the stock ones. They seem to put out the most lumens. Higher temperature bulbs lose lumens. Philips Ultinon 6000K's put out about 25% less light than stock. Sure, they look nicer, but you lose output.

If you are going to use 6000K bulbs, go with Philips Ultinons. You dont want to run generic bulbs.

OK, I'm definitely keeping the low beam stocker as they are. I want to get a 9003/H4 kit for the Hi Beam though, but don't want to spend $500 on a kit when Hi beams are rarely used. Isnt there just a nice super white and bright bulb I can replace both the hibeam and fog H4's? Don't want to do to much.

What about 2 pairs of these below?? I've heard PIAA's are great, but never used them.

Kazaam, I replaced my fog/high beam with the Sylvania Silverstar 9003, they are fairly close to the stock HIDs as you can get with a halogen bulb. Other halogen bulbs might be "blue-er", but the Silverstars are still bright. My vote for halogen replacement = Silverstars.

If you really want the HID conversion on the fog/high beam, there are lots of brands out there for $250-300 that are good quality. Here's a dual beam 9003 kit for $299 http://www.xenonking.com/Visionpro-4...d-Kit-Car.html
