Question HELP! 06 projector upgrade

I am looking to upgrade my 04 headlights to the 06 projectors. I have looked on ebay for pairs, but most of them do not include ballasts.

Can someone explain to me what ballasts are? Are they universal (can I use the ones on my 04 headlights in the 06 projectors)? I want a pair of projectors that are plug n play, I don't want to have to go buy more parts to make the 06 projectors work.

Ballasts will transfer over. It is a very easy procedure:

-Undo the clip harness on the side of the ballast (I believe it is green)
-Remove the ballast by removing the (3) philips screws.
-Undo the clip harness on the backside (inside) of the ballast (I believe it is brown)
-Undo the ground wire on ballast (inside)
-Repeat the process in reverse to install them on the 06 lights.

thanks!

BTW, when talking about projector headlights, are the words ballast and control unit interchangeable?

I have never heard the term control unit. If anything, the word ballast would be interchangable with inverter.

Arent you suppose to undo the battery prior to playing with any of these wires?

^ not necessary. the clips protect anything from getting criss crossed. unless you'e playing in the rain then you'll be fine.

Just remember when you buy 06 projectors you need to get the D2S Bulbs instead of the ones one your car. Assumin the headlights dont come with bulbs.

This is assuming the headlights are off the car. Good luck trying to take ballasts off while the headlights are still on the car
