Changed Front Blinkers to LED..Blows Fuse..HELP
i changed my front turn signals to 7443 led bulbs and it blows the fuse.
i know some of you guys out there have changed your front blinkers to led. i was just wondering which bulbs you use? brand?
i know ill need a load resistor to stop the hyperflash. i just need to get these to stay on first.

I installed a pair from VLEDs. No problems whatsoever from the start. Although I did have the polarity set correctly right from the start (I don't know if that actually can blow the fuse). Hyperblinking was solved with the load resistors.
Umm...
Let me chime in a bit here.
Assuming you have the right bulbs, and aren't working on the electrical system while it is ON, you are probably bumping into the exact same problem I was.
Test this out with some spare fuses, because you will likely blow a few more:
There are two ways you can plug in the bulb. Plug in the bulb so that that the high filament works properly (signal), and the low filament (parking) blows the fuse. Once you figure it out, mark the way the bulb plugs in so that you can remember it. Take the bulb out.

If you take a look at the diagram, you'll notice that both the low and the high circuit have their own ground (-). Because of the way these LEDs are made, versus the way the OEM incandescent bulbs are made, it will blow the circuits on 2003-2004 vehicles if left unmodified.
On the LED bulb itself, you need to carefully bend over one of the ground (-) circuits from its original side over to the other side. Please forgive me, as I do not remember if you need to bend the Low ground (-) to the High ground (-) or vice versa, but you have a 50% chance of getting it right. Once you finish bending, plug the bulb back into socket the same way you noted before, make sure your fuses are OK, and try it out.
Good luck!

ok well i def was not working on it with the lights ON. im 100% on that.
sillief00l that is great info. thats exactly what i was looking for.
thats what happened when i put them in the high worked and the low blew the fuse.
BUT i have 1 ques.
how do you know which side is the high and which is the low??? my bulbs dont have markings.
thanks
unfortunately the car is in the body shop so i cant try til i get it back.

also do you know which two wires to hook the load resistors to.
i know the blinker and the ground. im asking which color wires those are.
06 sedan if that matters.

Sorry for the late reply.
My bulbs were not marked either, so it was trial and error for me. There is limited number of combinations so you should be able to get the right wire fairly quickly. Do one bulb at a time, and one pin at a time. If you are not comfortable bending pins back and forth to experiment, use electric tape to completely insulate the wire you want to test. When you find the right one, then take off the tape when you have found the right one. Either way, have plenty of spare fuses.
I am going to take off my headlights in the next few days, so if you feel ike waiting, I can take a picture for you. It won't help much since my bulbs and sockets are unmarked, but I can do that if you like.
