while there are garbage leds out there that are manufactured in China, i wouldn't say an LED is garbage just because it's "made in China". Mine seem to be holding up just fine after a year so far.

I highly recommend V-LEDS if you want a long lasting, pure white led.

for the last 2, you can also try the SMT bulbs, but I have no experience with those for that particular application.

I have the SMT's from V-LEDS... work great.. use them in the trunk, glove boxes and License plate lamp. Have used V-LEDS for all my lighting mods.. great company.. Cust. Serv. guys are good about getting back with you asap... no issues what so ever.. great products!
