Thanks for the pictures BlueDevil, the lights really do make the car look a heck of a lot nicer. Now I really am gonna be itching for these to come in.
I ordered the SMT version of the 194/198, they were the same price as the high power ones you mentioned for the sidemarkers and plate.
And I have a pair of the 5 SMT towers, for my headlight housing to spread the light output around a bit more instead of just forward.
Elayman, I was thinking the same thing about the SMT, according to the site it is brighter that the 'HIGH POWER' ones so I got those. We'll see how they look, I just didn't want to spend the 15 for the 3 SMT ones so I got the single...for 10.
I will play around with which bulb looks the best with which housing (sidemarker vs headlight) and obviously take some pictures when they come in.
So look forward to that hopefully this weekend. Should be a fun project for an hour or so. Along with the oil change and full detail that will suck up the rest of my weekend.
Damn car...girlfriend is visting too...she might not be so happy to hear the plans I have made...

Look forward to seeing what they look like as well. To be honest, I can't remember if those particular SMTs were available when I bought mine, but another member here had experimented with almost every LED offered from several sites, and he concluded the single bulb 194/168 from v-LEDS.com was the best.
Only drawback, of course, is the unidirectional light path. It's too bad pics can't show differences very well!
OP, can't wait to see the pics! Good luck!

Well bad news, I'm an idiot and ordered 3 of the forward firing SMTs and not the tower.
I emailed sales to change one pair to the 5 SMT tower, but I don't know how responsive they are, so I might not have the tower for comparison.
Oh well, maybe later when I switch some more lights out, I'll order the tower if it doesn't work out this time.
Pictures will come either way.

I doubt you'd be able to see it from most angles to be honest. The bulb is pretty small and tucked away in the corner of the housing, and IMO it looks pretty nifty. I don't think the off appearance should turn you off of it.
I'll let you guys know if customer service does respond and change my order. We'll see if all doesn't work out, if not, I'll be looking to you Elayman for the comparo pics I guess if you end up getting the towers.

I know for a fact from the first page of this thread that one member got the 19 SMT version and while the base is 194/168, the bulb tower is too tall and wont fit in the headlights.
I would stick with the 11-SMT version as it seems more or less about the same height as the 5-SMT tower which should fit easily.
As for replacing the bulbs, look for the foglight replacement thread on a step by step to removing the fender lining and getting to your lights. Then it's a matter of switching the bulbs and you're all set.

Yea, it's easier with the wheel off, or you can turn it them inwards at each wheel well one at a time and make it a bit easier to access without removing altogther.
I'm just gonna jack the car up and turn the wheel either direction as I go along.
Also as an update, these guys are freaking fast with their shipping and already shipped mine out today, so I guess I wont have the SMT tower after all, sorry about that. On the plus side, they work really fast...haha
I will be posting how the single SMT looks though if you are still waiting by the time my lights get here.

Awesome, and don't worry, I'll bug you until you put the pictures up.
Then I'll probably follow suit in getting the bulbs depending on how I feel about the ones I got, haha...
