I looked at my manual yesterday, and for the rear side markers, it says LED...see Infiniti dealer.

I don't have it in front of me right now because I'm in the library, but I'll check again as soon as I get out of here and post a picture of what it says exactly. Thanks again.

i think you can visually tell if the marker is led or not... the light produced by the leds are much brighter and sharper as compared to the bulbs... a lot of blurring edges on the bulbs... well from the picture you supplied my eyes tell me its definately bulb...let hope my eyes dont make me sound like an as*

Have to go to class....

Thanks for everyone's help. I have to go to class now, but will be back on around 5pm to ask more questions and look for more replies. Again, I really appreciate it. Before I get back on at 5, I'll call Infiniti again and talk to a technician directly. I'll be sure to let you know the verdict...however, as it now seems, their word doesn't mean much. I've learned more here in five minutes than I have for 15 minutes on the phone with those guys. lol

OMG guys come on its a 194 bulb just like our clearance strips have except its just a halogen one, i replaced mine like 5 days ago, just go into your trunk take off all the covering panels and take a 10mm socket and unbolt the bi**ch and unscrew the old one and pull your old bulb out and then put your new one in ... thats it.

Okay guys... The verdict is...it's a bulb! I went back to Infiniti today and asked to speak with a technician, like you suggested...He immediately replaced the bulb (not an LED, like the manual says!!!) and there was no charge. Good lesson to be learned...Don't always trust the first response...If I had, I would have lost >$200.

Thank you for everyone's help!

FYI...You were also right about what kind of bulb...it's simply the same bulb that is used on the front side markers.

No worries...I agree with you 100%, and USUALLY I'm the same way. I had about 30 min to spare yesterday and knew I didn't even have the parts to replace what I needed (I also needed a plastic shield for the underbody that ripped off on the highway...hit something), so I drove to my local Infiniti, THINKING that they could quickly replace the bulb, while I purchase the underbody part to install myself (actually installing today), but OBVIOUSLY, that was not the case.

Regardless, thanks once again for everyone's help. This is a great forum...I wish I knew about it earlier.

My next question is...How do you upload pictures of your car, and change your avatar? I tried changing the avatar, but it gives me the following screen:

For reference, on the sedan, the rear sidemarker is a single LED (superflux type). I have cut open both the sedan and coupe tails, and I know for sure the sedan uses an LED.
