My sister actually has a 04 G35 sedan... Just out of curiosity, would she actually need to replace the entire tail light unit if her side marker goes dead, or could she simply replace the LED? I'm thinking that this is where the confusion originally started with Infiniti; they probably assumed I owned a sedan, which as you say, has the LED.

The less simple answer is you can just replace the LED. To replace the LED, you would have to cut open the tail light, disconnect the old LED, then solder a new LED in its place. For a lot of people that is a lot of work and specialized skill to replace a 50 cent LED.

The other answer is just leave the light with a burnt out rear sidemarker
