Question Change Rear deck brake light on 2003 Coupe

My rear deck brake light is out. Getting to the light isn't obvious to me. Can anyone help? Thanks

I have the same problem.
I just noticed my rear deck light would not turn on when I step on the brakes.

Let me know if you find a solution for this.
I will do the same.

Shin, to access the light, you will need to remove the cover over the light on the rear deck. You do this from inside the car. Let the rear seat drop forward to get better access. To remove the cover, insert a small screwdriver between the cover and the deck on each side of the cover and it should pop up a little so that you can remove it. You are pushing on small plastic tabs so be careful. The light unit is in the cover, just unplug it and remove 2 screws. Now the bad news, the part is very expensive. It is a unit that houses 6 LED bulbs and I had to pay $170 at the Infiniti dealer. You might be able to get it on line cheaper. Good luck.

Can I just replace the bulbs? or are the bulbs soldered to the unit like the vanity mirror lights?

It looks like a sealed unit to me, but take it out and check it out. You may be more mechanically inclined than me.

By any chance do you have a picture of the cover's backside so to get an idea as to where the tabs are located? I would hate pry in a screwdriver in a bad spot and/or an ineffective spot and ruin the deck or cover. Thanks.

ZI, I don't have a picture, but the tabs are about 1" from the outside of the housing on each side. You will feel it release when you touch it. The flatter the screwdriver, the better.
