just make sure you prep and clean the area very well and you shouldn't have any problems with paint peeling. I used scotch brite pads, which are kind of like really really soft steel wool, i just scuffed then cleaned the chrome so the paint had something to grab on to.

Good luck

ive been reading through all these pages and pictures everywhere and i havent seen any pictures of it being done before. putting a blue LED in the top part of the headlights, the lowbeams i think, to give it a true demon eye look. can this be done? i found this on google and it looks sweet and i was wondering if anyone knows how to do this.

im getting ready to tear apart my 08 sedan headlights and have a question for you guys,

those of you who are color matching the whole/part of the housing which paint are you using? im looking at getting color matched paint from here, http://www.automotivetouchup.com/, but am worried it will peel off because of the heat in the headlight. the majority of my headlight will be black but i can buy high temp. black paint, is there such thing as high temp. OEM color paint? do i even need that?

suggestions welcome

Thanks

No, you don't need high temp paint for the headlights. Read post #136. It's all in how you prep the bezels.

IMO, if you want to color match (aside from OB) get it professionaly done. It will look the best that way

just cracked open mine today, broke those stupid top glued in clip area on both bezels, but I guess thats kind of normal. I guess I'll just use some 2-part epoxy to seal them back in.

Can't wait to get these finished and modded, hopefully it all works.

Problem is i only want to color match the main projector shroud and the tiny turn signal shroud at the top of the headlight. so minute that i dont think its worth taking to a shop just for that.

G35Papa or someone else can you please confirm if the 200 deg bake is

200 deg Fahrenheit
or

200 deg Celsius?

I am thinking its Fahrenheit since you lot are in the States. Just need to make this sure.

Hey, G35papa! Thanks for posting this DIY. I successfully tackled my headlights this past weekend thanks to this thread. I love the finish from the Duplicolor bumper coating!
