Philips 5000K CrystalVision D2R...

I've been looking to upgrade my stock D2R bulbs to 5000K status. Many have mentioned the Philips 85126CM as an excellent upgrade. I just ran across the CrystalVision bulbs and was curious to see what others think. From what I can gather, these CrystalVision's are simply repackaged and renamed 85126CM's. They have identical specs, so I think there may be some truth it. Any input or help would be greatly appreciated. If all else fails, I guess I'll be one of the first and buy them and see what happens. They're only $189/set from suvlights.com compared to about $212/set from aftermarketbulbs.com.

Take care

go try it out and post your reviews
i have a philips 85122CM and i really like it! No more yucky yellowish color from the stock bulbs.

Also ive read people saying that there is no real 5000k bulb. They even say the philip 85122CM is just 4800k. marketing just says its a 5000k bulb

here one for sale on ebay. you can also use a 8% off through live.com

Thanks for the heads up dranom. Supposedly the CrystalVision's are labeled as 5000K, but are 5400K actual color. Not sure about that info though. We'll see what happens, still looking around...

Take care

So, I just received my Philips 85122CM the other day, after a long deliberation between figuring out the difference between the CrystalVision 5K D2S and them.

But basically, I called a TON of different companies / places / spent so much time trying to figure it out. And no one could really tell me exact info on them, including Philips themselves, so i got the 85122CM because they were a bit cheaper and were exactly what I wanted anyway.

If you find more concrete info on the CV5K be sure to post it here!

The owner of the site was really friendly and very prompt in responding to my emails and helping me search for more info about the CV5K. I ended up going with the CM, like I said though. He even hooked me up with coupons for cheaper shipping and insurance on the package . I suppose you could mention I sent ya over and try to get the same :P

^ Thanks Andy. I appreciate the help. I placed an order with suvlights.com a few days ago for the CrystalVisions. I guess I'll be the guinea pig and see what happens... I'll post my findings when I get everything sorted out (cars in the bodyshop for the next few weeks gettin' stuff done hehe!)

Again, thanks to all for the help!

from my understanding, Crystalvisions are nearly identical to the 85122CX which is what I am running. The CX is a japanese market bulb rated at 5000K. I believe the CM is rated at 4800K.

^^^ I was saying that Crystalvision and CX seem identical. CM is a bit different.

Here is what a CX looks like...

And a Crystal Vision...

Notice the blue strip that runs along the bulb is blue on both. On the CM, it is the same brownish color that is on the OEM bulb. This would lead me to believe that they CX/Crystalvision are a bit "whiter/bluer" than the CM. And apparently they are rated at 5000K versus 4800K.

If you look closely at the pic of the Crystalvision, the part number is 85122CX which is the same as the CX's. Philips probably just re-packaged them for the US market.

Good to know that I don't have to search high and low again if I need another set.

Here is what a CM looks like...

Yeah, checked the base of the bulb and saw CX not CM to my surprise! They were $189 plus shipping from suvlights.com. I'll review them as soon as I can...
