Headlamp Auto Mode
Headlamp Auto Mode
Can anyone tell me where the sensor is (or whatever it is) that detects dusk/dawn to control the headlamps when the switch is in the "auto" mode?
Recently, I've noticed that when I first start up my car ('05 G35 coupe) the lights come on in the right mode (on if it's dark; off if it's light), but they don't automatically switch if things change, for example, if I leave home in the early morning when it's dark and then the sun comes up during my commute -- the lights seem to stay "stuck" in whatever mode they come on.
Can someone advise on what to check to solve this problem? Thanks very much for your assistance with this question.

Yes, I see it on the dashboard (and I also see it in the service manual).
I just had my car serviced (oil change and differential fluid change). Could they have done something during that service that changed the settings?
