For those LEDs, it's very simple. Just tap into any 12V source, like the city lights. Red wire tap into the +, black wire tap into the -. If you can solder, you can make everything cleaner with more solid connections.

is this true for canadian spec too? whats the best place to tap into?

I haven't had any of my LEDs go bad, and this is after two years, starting with LEDs that I put in the front corner lights. I solder all my connections and use heatshrink over them.

Not sure about Canadian spec. But if you're not sure, you could always tap into the low beam.
