Flickering Projector

So check it. I bought new projector headlights off some dude. Hooked up the headlights with my balast (off my 1st gen non projector headlights) and his bulbs. I went and installed the headlights on the car then I go turned them on and the driver side headlight flickers on then turns off. Took em out checked the wires and conections and the ground on the fog light wasnt pluged in. Pluged it, then tried it again. Did the same thing, flickerd on then turned off (the right headlight worked fine btw, also the amber and fog light worked on the left one). So I assumed it was the balast so I swithced them around left to right right to left... Still did the same thing. So my question is; Do I need a new D2S Bulb? or am I forgetting to check something? I honestly dont think its the bulb because it flikers on then cuts out, if it was out it wouldn't go on at all right?

could be either the bulb or the ignitor . Bulbs will flicker for a while before they totally die . The ignitor is notorious for loose connection
