Dash Lights/Display Colors

Dash Lights/Display Colors
Anyone have any tips/ideas on how to replace the nasty color of the interior dash/display lights? It would seem to be a gel type system with white lights behind the plexiglass.
I was thinking of a blue color gel or even a lightly tinted clear one in place of the orange color.
Also, I have a white coupe 6 speed with tan leather interior. I have not seen tan leather in another car or on the order form on the Infiniti website. Are they not making the tan color interior anymore?

My question has always been
So youve changed the bulbs to blue or red or whatever, but what are we going todo about the led's that are still in orange? Those leds would need to be replaced where someone would find it i have no idea. But I guess someone could design a nice color patern around the orange. Versus the monochromatic orange that we have now.

Re: Dash Lights/Display Colors
I have not disassembled anything in the car......yet. I am tempted though.....
I don't remember my color combinations that go with amber, but it may be possible to line the inside of the faceplate cover with some color gels---Like those used in commercial lighting for music and video productions to create a better color using the original amber colored plastic....
You remember the color combinations don't you? Blue and red make green. Red and blue make purple. Yellow and green make blue, etc....
Gotta be a way to alter the freaky color without changing out the lenses....
Might just be a matter of finding the right colored transparent gel to change it to a much better color......

well they are just litthe bubls so you can just replace them with the proper wattaged bulb. I just dont know what todo about the led's because thats impossible to change the color.
Maybe someone could take a picture of the whole console and add color dots so we can get an idea.

Re: Dash Lights/Display Colors
I'm looking at the sedan, however will only buy when I see a new guage cluster or lighting schema is available for these - I HATE the amber/orange color... I've got a VW Golf now, and the blue/red schema is beautiful, plus it's different.
PLEASE post info regarding this - I really want to buy this ride, but this is a show stopper.
Thanks,
-paul

Re: Dash Lights/Display Colors
haha Sorry, but I'm buyin this ride for a few reasons - one of which is Style... Looks go a long way with this thing, especially the interior... I love the ride as a whole, but need the dash (which I'll be looking at during my driving) to fit my stylish mold
Anyone find anything??

Re: Dash Lights/Display Colors
You guys crack me up. "THE ORANGE SUCKS" Get out of here. Does anyone in here have an art degree? Okay first off, word of advice, Don't $hit up your cars with stupid stickers and racing seats. The interior of the car is bueatiful. You don't need dumb red set belt pads.. just ENJOY it. The orange is nice ESPECIALLY on a tan interior. I have gotten so many compliments on how Infiniti made the orange color scheme work so well. If you want to enhance it, put some orange neons under the seats and in the Heat/AC vents. I saw it on a G and it look so sweet. Don't change the color to blue or red, that's dumb. If you want a color scheme go buy a VW because you don't belong here.

yes the amber is suppose to be more pleasing to the eyes then any other color, and it may look great with the tan interior, but for the graphite interior, i feel like its halloween. besides, who's talking about putting in whacked seatbelts and what not, some of us will tastefully change the lights to be more pleasant to our eyes. I for one would like the faint blue/white similar to the backlight in the new cell phones. its not ricey and is very comfortable on the eyes.

Re: Dash Lights/Display Colors
I have the graphite interior, and the orange lights look just fine. Of course, my judgement may be suspect, as I also like the titanium center console...

Re: Dash Lights/Display Colors
It's subjective but I like the Audi fiberoptic ligting. I hope some one can figure out how to change the light scheme. But Marcel or Cadillac Carl have a good point about the radio etc lighting.
