Quote: Thanks for all the info. now How do you make the fogs come on with without turning on the HID lights? Can it be done?
No, unless you do some re-wiring. I haven't heard of anyone doing this but I'm sure it's possible somehow.

There are a few people on this site that changed out the fog/high to HID....Do a search I believe alan is the person who started the thread.....

If you don't want to lose your high beam function, you need to buy a bi-xenon kit. This serves as both fog/and switchable High beam.

if you just do a HID conversion, you will lose the high beam function.....only problem I hear with the bi-xenon is, there is a magnetic slide which moves in and out to give you the high beam function. They do not seem as reliable as standard bulbs.

I guess the question / trade off really is how often you use your high beams when you have your HID headlights and HID Foglights. I would imagine with that set-up you may never need high beams.

Let me get this straight.

H4=HB2= 9003(?)

I have just purchased a set of GE Nighthawks so I could swap out the fog/high beam. Have I bought the correct lights?

Thanks for the help.

No one has mentioned the Catz. From what I have heard the Mtecs match really well but the Catz are even better.

AfrOpuff has the catz in his car. I think he is pleased with them, and has them installed for well over a year now.
You should pm him.

yeah i know....i went through all this research about a year ago...Afro used like 10 different bulbs....there is a highly detailed thread around somewhere if it made the driver conversion

I was just letting people know in this thread. Catz Fair Whites (or even Galaxy Whites) are the way to match the HIDs.

Our stock HIDs are 4350k...
if your looking for a match get something close. Fair Whites are 4400k and Galaxy Whites are 4300k.

This place used to sell the Catz Aqua White and Galaxy White in H4s but now their site shows Aqua only and not even in H4s.

The Mtecs are back ordered. If the catz are a better match then I would prefer them. Anyone know of where to get the catz fair white or galaxy bulbs?
