You have to go through the wheel well. You can just turn your wheel, remove 1 screw, and 6 push in tabs and pull back the plastic cover to see the housing. I found it to be 10x easier if your remove the wheel.

You're joking right? If not, can you show us which one(s) you removed and how you were able to maneuver behind the fender protector?

I actually changed my clearance lights too, but I didn't need to go through the wheel well.
I just popped the hood, stuck my fist in the crevice between the back of the lamp unit under the hood. Then I quarter turned the clearance bulb and then there was about 6-12" of wire leeway to pop out the whole wiring harness and pop in the new 168 clearance bulbs. I didn't need to turn or remove the wheels at all. Probably took 3 minutes each bulb.
Here's a pic of my hyperwhite 168 clearance lights:

Re: Help! Riced out my G35 with wrong bulb color.
Well, i finally got the nice light blue effect i was looking for. I went with the piaa BLUE/WHITE led. But i had to color in the white LED with a black permanent marker to diffuse it a little. Other wise the white was really noticeable. Now its pretty good.

Same screw as you removed I guess.....and the push in tab, I only have to remove the one vertically below the screw. Then I can just pull out those plastic and put my hand in to get the stuff done. This way I can change every bulb in the assembly except the signal light.

I know an easier way. Open the hood to the engine bay, push the wheel well down, then you can easilly reach your hand back and pop the light out to change. when your done just push the wheel well back up by the wheel side.

If anyone is interested in my original BLUE LED wedge bulbs, let me know. They were only on for less than 2 hours. $20 including shipping.
