Fog Light Replacement - HID look?

Fog Light Replacement - HID look?
So I keep my fogs off because they make the HID's look really nasty with the yellow light. Is there a recommended replacement anyone likes? Also I noticed some stuff about 6k bulbs, is there a matching HID bulb also? I'd like to maximize light output but keep it looking nice.

Hey there Erikill. I happen to have MTEC Super White bulbs for my foglights and I love it. The lights themself are very very bright and a close match to our standard HID headlights. The kelvin temperature rating (which determines the color) is 4500K where as the headlights are 4350k. Here's a pic of the fogs below and if you'd like to get a pair yourself, just go on Ebay.

I got the PIAA Extreme whites... I think they're 4k. They match with the HID's perfect!!
I hated the yellowish glow of the fogs and never turned them on either. Match the PIAA Extreme Whites (H4), and the PIAA Extreme White LED's... and it'll all go great. I'll try to take some pix and post when I get a chance.

I've been thinking of doing the exact same thing. After searching this forum it seems like I'll be going with the mtec super whites, but I had a question on the install. It seems like everyone changes their bulbs by going through the front wheel wells. Is there anyway to change it just by opening up the hood or is the wheel well method the only way?
Thanks in advance

I don't understand why people consider "upgrading" their headlights to 6000K+ color temps. You are downgrading your lighting performance for the sake of looking cool. The headlights are medicore at best with the stock bulbs I can't even imagine what it must be at higher color temps.
If you are going to stick with standard halogen lighting in your fogs I would go for Sylvania Silverstars. If possible go for the OSRAM version which has no blue coating on the bulb. They are by far the best performing halogen bulb that uses stock wattage.

Sorry I wasn't clearer, when I meant brighter I actually meant the lumen output, not the color temperature. I care more about usable light than I do the color. I also have found the mtec super white H4 and the PIAA extreme white which both seem to be 4500K or so. What is the correct wattage for our cars, 55/65? I also saw the 4x which I don't know if that means it is 4x as many lumens equivalent to a 110W bulb or actually uses 110W.
I like the 6K look, but I agree losing visible light can suck, how people use 10,000K + bulbs I don't know.
