I NEED to remove my bumper??

 

hi, i have a 2010 ex35 and im trying to add an hid kit. do you think the bumper removing process would be similar? i cant seem to find much help on the ex's.

 

The 06 bumper follows the exact same method to remove the headlights right?

I've taken off all the screws that hold the bumper in place yet it still stays tight. I can't make the bumper lean forward like you have in the pics. Any help?

BTW, i'm not removing the screws on the bottom of the bumper, just the screws that hold the bumper to the fender (inside the fender protector)

You do not have to remove your whole bumper, just the screws shown. Then you will be able to pull the bumper forward and down to access the screws which hold the headlights in place.

 

It might seem stuck, but you will really have to yank on it. I thought mine still was being held on by something because it wasn't coming off. I just pulled it out and down at the same time. You can't just pull it forward, so try pulling on it at a downward angle, it will take some force to do it, and if it still feels tight, you might be missing a screw. Mine is an 05 so I can't say anything on the 06+

 

Awesome DIY. I am saving for a set of 06 headlight housings to put on my 03 coupe. I want to black it out but I am terrified to bake my casing hehe.

 

Nice DIY. I used it to install my 06 projector.

 

Just put some on my 03 coupe last night. Man they look much better than my stock (all yellowed out). This DIY is awesome! The only trouble I had was actually unhooking the wire harness (it was kind of stuck, I guess b/c it's old.) I had to use a flat head screwdriver and WD40 to press down on the little button? (not sure what u call it) to unlock the harness. Anyways, just in case for those that don't know, you have to slide off the harness from the clip and then press the button to unlatch the wiring harness.

 

This is an awesome DIY and I plan on taking on this challenge next weekend if the weather provides. I just have a few quick newb questions so I can get the best result and not eff anything up.

So i remove the headlight from the car and place it in the oven at 215F for about 10 mins, then open them up? Do i remove the bulbs or can I just leave them in there? Next question, I have an OB coupe so I'm trying to paint mine black, what is the best color and/or brand of paint to get for the best match? And do I tape off the clearance and headlight and fog lights off with painters tape? Thanks guys

 

This is a great DIY but whenever i try to remove the whole headlight, i cant seem to unclip the hardness that is shown in the last picture..

 

thanks for the writeup!! it took me 3 hrs lol cuz to take the bumper off u pretty much need a flex attachment..... also I could never put back in bolt #3 on the headlight, but its in there securely...also its a lot more difficult to remove the passenger headlight due to size constraints and its tough to pop off the black connector that provides the power to the headlights.....

 

Is anyone having condensation issues?? I am on my passenger side headlight. Where can I get some more of that glue stuff to add to the headlamp when putting it back together? I plan on taking it apart today.

Do I need a special tool to remove the wire harness? I cannot dislodge it from the light housing.

 

Just push the tabs down and pull.. I used a screw driver..

 

you can always just break the tab holding the harness if nothing works
after that, you can just flip it over and take it off
