Hi,

I'm thinking of getting my 06 headlights done by Mr. Zipps. He said he can do a 6 LED mod in the clearance strip.
Anyone know about him and is he reliable and does he do good work?

 

Yes, a couple of my friends had work done by him in their G's. Anyway, he lives in the town next to me. He does excellent work but, I think he is rather too expensive for my taste. But, that's my opinion. Anyway, hope that helped!

 

what would an LED mod in the clearence strip of an 06 light look like? i'll be getting an 06, and i was sort of sad they did away with this light-up strip...

Hey, if your getting work done with Mr. Zipps. I asked him about a group discount if we get about 5 heads to get the lights done we can get a 10% discount. Not much but whatever. Pm me if your down. I heard good things about him.

 

Putting LEDs into 06 headlights in the raised area where the clearance strip used to be in 03-05 headlamps will be very difficult. The chrome bezel is very delicate and to do this cleanly he would have to be very precise. I am not saying it can't be done it just will be a very difficult process.

 

Dan from Mr.Zipps said he can do it for $350. Haven't seen pics on his website doing this type of work on the 06 housing. So, I can't really vouch for this type of work. If anyone has it done on the 06. Please post pics. Thank you in advance.

 

I'm still thinking about doing this but I can't bring myself to justify spending $350 on a headlight mod....But, I want it.

 

id pay $350 for a gloss black bezel paintjob AND a blinking LED strip....
