Sorry to dig old post

I am currently in process of doing 05 cluster swap.

I have 05 complete dash for my 03 coupe and was wondering if 05 cluster will fit directly into 05 dash if 05 dash is installed on 03.

Can you take a look at this part diagram and tell me which additional parts I will be needing beside 05 dash assy to make it a direct fit without doing the housing swap mod on 05 cluster to fit into 03. I believe I need parts that are circled in attached diagram.

It will work but I think u need the plugs from an 05 to plug into the back of the cluster.. Not 100%, I know some wiring is different.. You are doing the console to right?? Since it won't fit the older console..

The newer year gauge cluster DOES fit the older model G35's. You need to splice the factory wiring harness's though to make it actually work. It is NOT plug and play. As far as it fitting in the dash. I believe there is a little modding that needs to be done to the plastic bezel. If your replacing the entire dash then I would assume it would fit up fine. If your putting the 05 cluster in the 03 dash It sould fit as well. Its the plastic piece itself that is a little different. I have mine pulled off my car, because I am doing a complete re do on my interior so I can look at it tonight and see.

Which Clusters will fit in an 2004 g35x

Hey Guys,
I'm new on here but I've had my G35x Sedan 2004 for about 2 years now. I rarely post anything and I'm asking for some fellow enthusiast insight into what types of gauge cluster mods that would be possible for my G. I realize some of these questions have been posted before, however going out every post to read the right answer proves tiring. Does anyone have a straight answer as to what will fit?

7. Look at the pic of the back of the 03 housing below. You can see that I had to hack into it to make both plugs sit flush. You can use a dremel or a hacksaw, or pliers, or whatever you want. Keep playing with it until the 05-07electronics sit flush.

8. Once you have done, this, put the cluster back together doing the steps in reverse. You'll be dropping the 05 electronic guts into the 03 casing/housing. I also opted to modify my 03 plastic lens cover to cover my new 05-07 cluster. You will have to line up where the stick would got through the plastic and drill the hole. I used a very small knife to identify where to drill. It came out perfectly.

9. Next, you will need to use the 03 and 05 diagrams and the attached schematic (a few posts up, where I asked for the sticky) to start the wiring. I used optical connectors and wired into the existing 03 wiring using the schematics. It's a bit funky looking, but it cleans up nicely with tape and tubing to pack the wiring away.
You are a G! ty

If ur doing a complete dash swap, it will fit just fine. you are aware of the fact u will have to splice right? it is not plug and play by any means

Question!

I have a question I need some help with...!!

Will a G35X gauge cluster that has the AWD SNOW etc. indicators on it SPLICE AND WORK WELL with a 2003-2004 G35 COUPE????

My logic was that if I plug everything I need from the 05+ G35X cluster into the 03-04 COUPE cluster and just leave the awd, snow, etc indicators left unplugged... everything should work fine. ???

Also, I read somewhere that the transmission indicators are different?? And gauges are slower?? (<---- according to guy who complained about tomz on page 20)

Will The G35X gauge cluster work as intended in a 03-04 coupe, or will I have problems?

I just finished doing this, now im sending it off to get it turned to blue. It works, but doing the Nav part was a little confusing. I will update that one when im putting my car all back together in a few months.

Do you know if it matters what mileage is on the odometer on the cluster or is the mileage automatically programed to the ECU? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question not too familiar with installing the instrument cluster.
