Oh, also one thing I wanted to ask, Did this affect the mileage reading on the odometer? Is the mileage on the gauge cluster or stored in the ecu? If this was mentioned already, I apologize.

My mileage changed.....from 36K to 42K, since the mileage is saved in the cluster itself. So my G has aged slightly.

I used a non-navi cluster, even though I have a navi car....I had to modify the pigtail a bit, since there was no wire in the pigtail (all clusters come with the connector in the back of the cluster itself, but the pigtail will be missing the corresponding 3 wires if it is non-navi, they are all on the smaller connector). I spliced a wire into the pigtail, and then wired that into the 03 harness, which does have the navi connectors (since my 03 came with Navi), and it seems to work fine, but seems to respond a tiny bit slower, say or second or so delay.

I used the destination menu to see if the directions menu still works, and it works just fine! We'll see if it holds up long term.

Hey accordfreak,
Like tom stated, it shouldn't make a difference if the cluster is from a navi equipped or non-navi equipped car. From the service manual I remember that all the physical connections are there for the navi if you had that as an option. All you have to do is wire it up.

Like Alan says, I used a non-navi cluster and I don't really see any difference. Chekz was in the car with me when I plugged in his non-navi cluster and it worked fine.

Plan to spend about 4-5 hours total on this DIY, since the work is methodical and you have to really take your time when swapping out the housings!
