Throttle body troubles (cant get it off)

Hey guys.

So I'm trying to replace my camshaft sensor but for the life of me can't get my damn throttle body off...

The hex screws are on there so good all I'm doing is stripping.

Do you guys have ANY suggestions other than trying to drill into the screw?

As a last ditch option is it possible to just take off the upper manifold with the throttle body still connected to it?

Thanks ahead of time.

I had exactly the same issue a while ago. I put a bit of penetrating oil on them and was able to remove 3 of them. Last one stripped completely, so I had to loosen it with a hammer and a flat head screwdriver then hammer the hex head into the bolt and it barely gave out

Oh and make sure you have a good hex key that will sit well into the bolt head, and clean the bolt head, cuz dirt in the bolt itself will make it much easier to strip

I didn't hit it hard enough to brake it, just tapped until screw got a bit loose

use a good hex key that fits properly.
put it in all the way not just a little bit.
Don't use any kind of impacts or things of that nature it will strip the hex bolt.
apply thread loose product (grease that creeps into the threads)
and pull gently but gradually on them bolts.
Should not be such a problem to get them out.

I believe there is a bolt that holds the plenum under the throttle body that is inaccessible if throttle body is not removed.

^No bolt like that, the upper plenum can be removed with the TB attached.

G35 6MT Coupe
Yea, had to use a proper fitting allen wrench. Some fit tighter than others depending on quality. That was the worst part of doing the MREV upgrade for me.
