Hopefully everything works out... Had a similar situation. I've been in almost the exact same scenario, except it was in Oregon, although oregon is also 16... Anyways, I was backing out of a parking spot, and got nailed by a 15 year old with his friends...

Kid tried to say it was my fault because I didn't see him as I was backing out...

Long story short, it was determined that the kid was automatically at fault. The way it was explained was that since he was underage and unlicensed, he was by definition "unfit to drive without supervision", and "inexperienced". Therefore, the mere act of him driving without a properly licensed adult over 21 years of age (the law in oregon) the teen was considered "negligent". Apparently if any driver is determined to be negligent, insurance company will always place blame on them first. Hence, he was automatically at fault.

Def go aftermarket, at least with the rear now, if you're in a time crunch. Then decide about the sides/front afterwards.

That sucks, I definitely would have been pissed. At least you may get some new aftermarket goodies
