My Dual Ring Tail Project: Sedan Tail Implant

Ever since the G35 Sedans started having the Dual Rings (skyline look) and then the G37s came out... i have wanted to Duplicate this since Nissan/INFINITI forgot about the G35 COUPES!

I finally got my 06 USDM Tails so im going to attempt this with my 03 Tails first then try it on my new Tails as my Final Project. I am NOT an Electrician/technician or in any field relating to electrical so i am going to try to keep soldering to a minimal as well as keeping everything OEM and pretty much retain the inner LED cluster. Im not trying to do anything fancy.

Ill try to update after every session i work on these, but due to my new work schedule ill probably only have a few hours of time a day for this project.

Got a few tips from E_K, but instead of just implanting the smaller ring, I am going to put both Sedan Rings since the 03 LEDs are rather dull compared to the Sedan's (see picture 1)

Ive already come up with an issue that im not quite sure on what to do yet. since the Sedan Rings are in a Oo oO sequence with the larger Ring on the outside... and the Coupe has a oO Oo, my issue is that if i implant the Sedan Rings but just switching the location, the turn signal bulb (with is in the center of the Larger Ring) would be on the Inner Circle instead of the outer. hmmmm.. i dont really want to fabricate the outer Ring to be the blinker. well see.. ill figure it out.

so far i purchased a Drivers side 07+ Sedan Tail from a local guy (i only have this drivers side so if you know if anyone might have a Passenger side.. let me know. lol. https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...ferrerid=13080)

Sedan 07+ Tails Next to 03 Coupe Tails

Sedan Donor

Donor LEDs Cut out next to Coupe Tails

Testing LEDs

Sedan Opened up

For reference... my Coupe Reverse Light has been accumulating mositure inside recently. i dont really know why.

----------

Ok figured out how the moisture was getting in. ill fill that in later.

Opened up 03 Coupe Tails

Cut out Sedan Donor next to Coupe Tails

Coupe Outer Ring Cut out

Test Fitting Outer Ring

Test Fitting Outer Ring: Rear Shot

Lens for the Sedan is too big. i need to figure out how to make this fit....

I might have to sacrifice my Side light to make the LED cluster light up. oh well.

if you are talking about the SEDAN tails, then YES. i didnt really take my time and they were more for practice.

but the Coupe lights are cut pretty clean. i cut them at a different angle. There will be some torn edges from the Dremel, you cant avoid that. ill clean that up later with a buffer or just peel them off. all that will be sealed up. ill take a better picture to show the cut tomorrow.

it's still there in it's stock location. there's just some led high intensity led bulb in there.
Only difference is the outer ring around is now led as you see in the pictures.
